ABOUT DANIELLE

Danielle is a music teacher and songwriter who was born and raised in Sebastopol, California. She began internalizing the sounds of Chopin, 1960's folk music, and her parents' rehearsals for church choir in utero. Danielle spent her earliest years lying underneath the grand piano as her mom practiced piano, and began playing as soon as she could reach the keys. True to her parents' groovy taste for songwriters such as the Beatles, Joni Mitchell, and the Mamas and the Papas, Danielle's singing career began standing on the coffee table when she was two years old.

Danielle plays and enjoys classical music fluently, but her true love is in simply enjoying songs that can be shared with the community. She frequents open mics and performs her own original songs throughout the Bay Area. Her album Stepping Out is made up of 100% original songs and can be found on iTunes. After graduating from San Francisco State with a BA in Music, Danielle began teaching piano and realized that it was pretty hard work for a beginner! She set out to duplicate the easy and natural way of learning music with which she had been blessed.

LESSONS

I TEACH MUSIC BY IMMERSION. Traditional piano lessons can be frustrating because they teach you to read before you understand the language.This is like handing a chapter book to a toddler and saying, Here buddy, read this.

I teach you the language of music. You will understand, hear, and play music easily before you read it. These are piano-based music lessons that will truly prepare you for any instrument and genre.

Here's what a lesson looks like for all ages of students:

• We actually listen to music :)
• We play games that help student "get it" right away
• I give do-able homework and I command you to enjoy it
• Student will play independently right away
• Student will know how to collaborate with other musicians
