Mark Abdilla

TEACHING

Mark has been playing guitar since he was 13. By the age of 16 he was teaching his teacher and has been instructing, performing in nightclubs and recording cds ever since. He teaches 5 days a week a diverse variety of ages, and personalities acoustic and electric guitar. Mark's enduring success as a teacher is due to the fact that he actually likes teaching and his students enjoy coming to the lessons. During a 2 year hiatus Mark tutored Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett at S.F.S.U. in the Jazz department.

RECORDING

PERFORMING/TOURING

Although he is a brilliant and sought after Electric Guitarist , he has toured Europe every August since 2000 and is featured at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as the Riga (Latvia) festival performing Flamenco, Celtic and Classical styles. While not teaching Mark holds a busy schedule performing with his rock band at clubs from San Francisco to L.A. and San Diego as well as flamenco, acoustic and classical guitar at wineries, cafes, corporate events, private parties, and festivals. Some of Marks clients are Grace Cathedral, Domaine Carneros, V Sattui, Solage and Peju wineries to name a few.

EDUCATION

Mark holds a bachelors degree in music from San Francisco State University, A.A. degree from College of San Mateo as well as a degree from the Guitar Institute in Hollywood.
